I haven’t had as much time as I would like to get out and take pictures. I have been focused on selling prints and all of the business aspects that go along with selling fine art.
Needless to say, with being very busy, I have made sure that when I do get out, I make it count. The photo above, which I call “Path of the Wayfarer”, is very special to me. I created this image at the end of January 2014. I wasn’t sure if it would be a very good sunset, but I just needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life, and enjoy some solitude along the shores of Abalone Cove.
I hadn’t been to Abalone Cove in many months, so it was nice to return to my favorite haunt. This beach is overlooked by the Wayfarer Chapel. It is a beautiful glass chapel with a breathtaking view of the ocean. Many of my family have gotten married there, which is why this photo has a special meaning. This is one of the views from the chapel, as you gaze north along the shore.
As sunset approached, I had tried a number of different compositions but nothing was really working for me. As the sun fell behind the cliffs and the clouds began to smolder, I settled on a simple composition using the reflections on the sand framed by the dark cliffs. A sea lion was playing in the surf about 20 feet from me. It was a peaceful and tranquil moment, one of those moments when you just feel that all is right with the world.
This photo has proven to be quite popular, so I decided to give it a special custom frame and fabric wrapped mat board. The print is 12×12 and the frame measures 15×15. It is a truly stunning piece, and I am very proud of it.
I offer it for sale in this special presentation frame and mat for $375. Of course, it is signed and numbered, and includes a certificate of authenticity with unique serial number. If you are interested in adding this piece to your collection, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
